YOUthSPACECamp Joy is Back!By Elizabeth Brown Ah, spring, when a young person’s fancy turns to thoughts of – Camp Joy? Well, my thoughts do, and I suspect others’ do as well. I remember Camp Joy weeks in the past—the year when we were tossed around to different worksites, and the fabled year I can only imagine when the lower part of the campground flooded. If your thoughts do not turn to Camp Joy, I would suggest learning of it so that you can think of it. Camp Joy is actually an acronym for Christian Appalachian Mission Project: Joining Other Youth. It is a camp where youth from various churches go to West Virginia to help repair houses for people that cannot afford paying someone to do so, or have other setbacks. This year, Camp Joy takes place July 18-24. Millian goes with St. Matthew Presbyterian, and the planning meetings have already started. But don’t worry; it’s not too late. Your money, $110, secures your spot. If you know you want to go, don’t forget to come to the fundraisers, or send someone in your place: "Breakfast Before Bedtime" will be Saturday June 5 at 5:30 at Millian; Camp Joy Car Wash will be Sunday July 11 after worship at St. Matthew. Contact Katherine Brown (millianeducation@verizon.net) or Dwaine Weigel if you have any questions. And think on it. I am.
