Dates to remember because they matter.
Every week our Administrative Assistant, Bambi Blackwell, works hard to make sure our bulletin lists the events of the upcoming week. Every Sunday I stand before you and remind you of the events on our calendar. Every newsletter we all try to make sure you have a calendar that informs you of the activities of the church. Every quarter our shepherds call hundreds of people to make sure they know the most important dates and events coming up. A lot of effort goes into letting the people of Millian know what the people of Millian are doing.
We do this because it matters. We are a family – a busy family – and we are trying to make sure the family calendar is on the refrigerator. Like any family, everyone wants to know when the band concerts are, when the football/soccer games are, so the family can all go. Like any family, we need to coordinate who is going where and when and who is dropping off and picking up.
Our calendar is very busy this month – busy with great things. But they are only great if you are aware of them and know when they are happening. In the month of September, here are the dates and events I want you to know and remember:
- September 5th: 9am and 10:30am service, no Sunday school
- September 10th-12th: Millian retreat at New Windsor retreat center
- September 12th: 9am service AT NEW WINDSOR RETREAT center. Call the office if you are interested but would like a ride. There will be a 10:30 service at Millian Church for those who do not attend at New Windsor.
- September 19th: Bishop Schol will preach at our 10:30 service. No 9 am service.
- September 25th: Fall Festival. Get ready to be part of it!
- September 26th: The beginning of the program year and dedication of teachers.
The program year will be:
- 9:30 a.m. Worship in Sanctuary, English
- 9:30 a.m. Sunday School for All Ages, English and Español
- 10:30 a.m. Fellowship Time in Chapel
- 11:00 a.m. Worship in Sanctuary, English y Español
- 12:00 p.m. Fellowship Time in Chapel
- 5:00 p.m. Servicio en Español in Sanctuary
Also, our Charge Conference this year is October 16th. Save the date.
