Welcoming our New Pastor
We would like to extend a warm welcome to Reverend Alice Ford who is our incoming pastor. She has asked us to arrange small group meetings with her so that she can get to know our congregation. We will be starting these chats sometime in July. The sessions will be held at church following our 10:00 a.m. service or in the evenings. As soon as the details have been worked out, your Shepherd will contact you. At that time you will be provided a choice of dates and times. We know this will be a meaningful time for us as we get to meet with Reverend Ford. Any questions, please contact Terri Sheetz at (301) 384-8414.
I hope you were able to attend the magnificent Organ Dedication Concert given by Mark Miller. I think back to the little electronic organ that Hazel Young used to play in the Chapel, and how she "graduated" to the pipe organ which we were able to install in the present sanctuary, even though we had to lower the bench so that her feet could reach the pedals. That organ served us well for over 40 years, but the new Allen Organ, combined with the old pipe organ is a vast improvement. Those of you who were at the concert will agree that there isn't anything our new organ cannot do. Many thanks to Wes Paulson and the members of the organ committee for their excellent work. -Don Allen
